My trip to the Bolsa Chica Wetlands and Bolsa Chica State Beach

Today I had the opportunity to attend the Bolsa Chica Wetlands and State Beach. There was an Earth Day Festival to celebrate our nature's species and wetlands in the Bolsa Chica area. There were exhibits about reptiles, butterflies, and many of the birds and ducks that reside in the area.

My favorite exhibit was the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium. As a child, I remember stories of thousands of fish that used to swim to the sand at night to lay their eggs. The Cabrillo Marine Aquarium offers midnight excursions in San Pedro to visit the grunion fish that lay their eggs on the sand.

After the festival, I drove over to the State Beach and had a nice long walk around the wetlands where the birds and duck lay their eggs. On the bridge were three photographers that were taking pictures of the birds nesting and flying over the wetlands.
